Ever thought of visiting Italy but you're not sure of why you should go, don't worry I've got you covered. Here is a list of five reasons to visit italy for your next vacation,holiday, backapacking adventure or honeymoon.
1. Food - Italy is the birthplace of some of the most popular food across the entire globe. Pasta, pizza, Cheese (mozzarella, ricotta) and the pastries oh! Mama Mia!. The first-ever pizza was made in Naples back in 1860. It might be hard for you to imagine a time without pizza as it has become a staple treat in many people’s diets across the world. That’s one of the many reasons why it is worth visiting Italy. Honestly, who doesn’t love pizza?

2. The Colosseum -
have you seen movies like Gladiator and Spartacus with the warriors and prisoners fighting in the Arena? I bet you have, the ultimate Arena is the Colosseum located in Rome. Its also known as the Flavian amphitheater that could host 50,000 people and events could last as long as 100 days.

Here, you can pay a few Euros to climb up a staircase take photos on Juliet’s balcony and admire a bronze statue of Juliet.

4. Venice - Venice is popularly called the Queen of the Adriatic as it is a city surrounded on all sides by water, yes "water". Visiting venice without riding the Gondolas(traditional boats used as transport across the narrow streets) is like going to New york without visiting Time square. Gondolas and boats and using your own two feet are the mode of transport as there are no cars allowed in Venice .

5. Hiking & Climbing - Italy is surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains. If you're a hiker you should try the trails on the Amalfi Coast's Sentiero degli Dei (path of the gods) offers views that stretch all the way to the island of Capri. The Polvoni volcanoes of Sicily, Selvaggio Blu mountain in Sardinia are some famous hiking and climbing trails in Italy.
